CookieYes Proves to Be a Good Option for Your Site

CookieYes is a WordPress plugin that helps you make your website comply with the new cookie laws of GDPR. The term'Cookies' refers to data sent by web servers to a user's browser, which identifies a particular website on the internet. This cookie can be related to the IP address, the domain name or the subdomain of a web server or it can also be calculated based on the contents of the page being accessed. Users can deny the request for cookies at any time, by changing their browser's settings or by destroying the cookies already stored on the website. As such, they will not see any changes made to their website.

CookieYes integrates with many of the most popular plugins available in the market, so that in your website, the features required by each of the plugins will be enabled when the plugin is activated. For example, when the Google Analytics JavaScript plugin is activated, the 'onerime' field created by Google will be included in the outgoing cookies. This means that whenever someone clicks on an ad, a cookie will be generated from the source URL, so that it will be evident that the click came from the site, even if the user goes away from the site later. If you use the 'oauth2' WordPress plugin, then cookie category can be selected automatically from a drop down list, so that whenever a user enters a domain name, the appropriate category will be selected.

In addition to that, CookieYes allows you to create customised permission levels, so that users can only gain access to limited fields, such as the 'type' or 'name' list, or to specify the scope of the 'redirects' field. Also, cookie policies can be specified to allow users to see which links are permitted, and which aren't. When a user goes to a particular page in your site, the plugin will automatically remove any non-permitted links, thus making the page more secure. If you are using a short code in conjunction with a standard plugin, such as the Google Analytics JavaScript plugin, then it is also possible to set up redirects to different domains, instead of just the one domain being allowed to be redirected to.

In Softonic we scan all the files hosted on our platform to assess and avoid any potential harm for your device. Our team performs checks each time a new file is uploaded and periodically reviews files to confirm or update their status. This comprehensive process allows us to set a status for any downloadable file as follows:

Clean

It’s extremely likely that this software program is clean.

What does this mean?

We have scanned the file and URLs associated with this software program in more than 50 of the world's leading antivirus services; no possible threat has been detected.

Warning

This software program is potentially malicious or may contain unwanted bundled software.

Why is the software program still available?

Based on our scan system, we have determined that these flags are possibly false positives.

What is a false positive?

It means a benign program is wrongfully flagged as malicious due to an overly broad detection signature or algorithm used in an antivirus program.

We’d like to highlight that from time to time, we may miss a potentially malicious software program. To continue promising you a malware-free catalog of programs and apps, our team has integrated a Report Software feature in every catalog page that loops your feedback back to us.

Flag any particular issues you may encounter and Softonic will address those concerns as soon as possible.
